2. Guide in terms of section 10
The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has compiled a guide on how to exercise your rights under PAIA. It's available at www.sahrc.org.za or by contacting the SAHRC directly.
3. Categories of records we hold
Automatically available
- Marketing materials, product brochures and pricing published on this site.
- Open-source product documentation.
- PAIA manual itself (this document).
Held on request
- Operational records (subject to commercial confidentiality, customer privacy and other lawful grounds for refusal).
- Statutory records required by South African law (e.g. B-BBEE certificate, CIPC filings).
- Personnel records (subject to POPIA and applicable labour law).
4. Request procedure
To request access to a record:
- Use the prescribed Form C (available from the Department of Justice & Constitutional Development or the Information Regulator).
- Submit the completed form, together with the prescribed fee, to the Information Officer at the email address above.
- Identify the record you want with reasonable specificity.
- Provide proof of identity.
We will respond within 30 days. If the request is denied, we'll give written reasons and explain the appeal procedure.
5. Prescribed fees
The prescribed request fee and access fees are set out in the PAIA Regulations. We will quote the applicable fee when acknowledging your request.
6. Grounds for refusal
We may refuse access on the grounds set out in chapter 4 of PAIA, including (but not limited to): protection of privacy of third parties, commercial confidentiality, and protection of research information.
7. Availability of this manual
This manual is available free of charge on this website. A printed copy is available at cost on request to the Information Officer.
8. Updates
This manual is reviewed and updated as required by section 14(2) of PAIA. Material changes are published on this page.
